Accelerate the modernization of foreign-related judicial system

The foreign-related commercial and maritime trial is the external window of China’s judiciary. Chinese courts have accelerated the modernization of foreign-related judicial system and judicial capacity, and made positive progress in serving the major strategy of opening up to the outside world, strengthening the judicial protection of foreign investment rights and interests, cracking the extraterritorial service and participating in the formulation of international rules, The international credibility and influence of foreign-related commercial maritime trials continued to improve.

According to statistics, from 2013 to June 2022, courts across the country have concluded more than 7300 cases applying for recognition and enforcement of civil and commercial judgments of foreign courts, involving more than 40 countries. At the same time, many civil and commercial judgments of our courts have also been recognized and implemented by many countries, and the international credibility of China’s judiciary is constantly improving. China has concluded bilateral judicial assistance treaties with 39 countries, including Italy, Brazil, Russia, Belarus, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, of which 35 contain the recognition and enforcement of civil and commercial judgments, greatly promoting the mutual recognition and enforcement of judgments between China and the contracting countries.
