Cross-Border Trade Dispute Settled Through Mediation
A longstanding trade dispute between Canadian company as buyer for purchasing excavators from Shandong Machinery Co., Ltd. was amicably resolved through mediation led our Law Firm. The conflict arose from delayed contractual obligations under agreement, but increased the prices unilaterally, resulting in financial losses for buyer. Under the terms of the mediated agreement, the supplier agreed to refund buyer within five days, along with compensations. The resolution was reached after extensive negotiations, during which attorney emphasized legal obligations under China’s Civil Code (Articles 509, 577) and guided the parties toward a mutually acceptable compromise.
