China issued the China Maritime Trial

From 2018 to 2021, the China maritime courts accepted 132633 maritime cases, maritime administrative cases, maritime criminal cases and maritime enforcement cases, and concluded 133309 cases. Since the establishment of the maritime court, China’s maritime trials have been developing day by day. China has built the Asia Pacific Maritime Justice Center and is moving towards the goal of building an international maritime justice center.

From 2018 to 2021, eleven maritime courts will arrest 2717 ships, including 105 foreign ships and 24 Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan ships. 1252 ships were auctioned, including 30 foreign ships and 9 Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan ships. The top five flag countries for the number of foreign ships detained are Russia, Panama, Liberia, Marshall Islands and Vietnam. The top five flag countries of foreign ships auctioned are Liberia, Panama, Marshall Islands, Belize and Singapore.
The national maritime courts exercise jurisdiction in accordance with the law, scrupulously abide by international treaty obligations, respect autonomy of the will, accurately apply applicable laws, properly hear cases involving foreign affairs involving Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, equally protect the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese and foreign parties, constantly improve the international credibility and influence of maritime trials, and play a role of judicial escort in optimizing the business environment and providing high-level services.
