Number of judgments on China Judgments Online exceeds 100m

China Judgments Online, an official online database in China, had registered more than 100 million judgment docoments and 48 billion visits as of 6 pm on Aug 30, 2020.
The website was officially launched on July 1, 2013. In November of the same year, the Supreme People’s Court released a regulation requiring courts at all levels to publish their judgment documents on internet began on Jan 1, 2014.
Since the end of June of 2015, courts of 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on Chinese mainland have released their judgment documents online, covering all types of cases.
Judgments in five ethnic languages, namely, Mongolian, Tibetan, Uygur, Korean and Kazak, were included in the database since Dec 15, 2015.
On Aug 30, 2016, the SPC released a revised version of the regulation firstly released in 2013, requiring courts to enhance the judgments’ publicity and established a series of supportive systems aim to help courts to reduce the workload of publicizing the judgments, lower the risks of making mistakes when uploading the documents and strengthen specific management of posting.
